Rob Pirina Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2011
Now in its 21st year the ‘WSABE’ business awards are regarded as one of the most prestigious events amongst the business fraternity of Greater Western Sydney.
Presented by the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce celebrating their 100th year and Parramatta Council with their 150 years, the night was sure to be filled with much excitement.
For 27 year old entrepreneur Robert Pirina it was to be a night more than he could have dreamed of, after all he was already a finalist.
As owner of Glenorie Bakery and Australia’s Outback Bakehouse in Windsor, Robert has become quite used to the limelight with many personal and business accolades gained in the last 4 years. Only two weeks ago his Outback Bakehouse took out the Local Business Award for ‘Outstanding Bakery in the Hawkesbury.
Judged by his peers and well seasoned business professionals, Robert sat patiently enjoying the night with family and friends as each award was announced.
Then the announcement came for the Winner for ‘Excellence in Retail and Product Services’ ……. the silence was broken by “the winner is Glenorie Bakery”. Robert’s pent up anticipation exploded as he jumped from his seat, yes he had done it again, as he made his way the Podium.
Robert confidently thanked all those responsible for the award and the organisation of the night and stated how humbled he was by the experience of it all.
Satisfied with such an award he sat back and continued to relish the winning trophy.
The next 4 awards were in the ‘High Achievers Categories.
Following the business of the year and business women of the year, the next award was for Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
As awards chairman, Paul Dillon read out the background to the worthiness of this award, it was clear amongst those at Rob’s table who the winner was likely to be.
The winner is an individual who had made an exceptional, commitment to the community and charitable causes.
Ray Williams Parliamentary Secretary for Western Sydney stepped forward to present the award and the winner of ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ is, ‘Robert Pirina of Glenorie Bakery’. Family and friends at table 21 once again leapt with jubilant praise for this outstanding achievement.
In receiving his award Rob said. “I want to thank two other people who have made this night such a success compare and media personality Glen Wheeler who has made me laugh so much and fellow winner Paul Mahar the owner of Loxley on Bellbird Hill who recommended me to enter the WSABE award process”.
Leaving the stage there it was Rob’s 3rd honour for the night a true fistful of awards.
Robert spent the rest of the night sharing his success with family and friends.
But there was no time to waste, for plans are already rolling out for Rob’s next community event ‘The Hills Kids Cup Cake bakeoff’ taking place at Glenorie Bakery www.hillscupcakebakeoff.com.au
